Choose an interior designer who knows construction
Interior designers do very good work, and a good one can take a space a long way. When a project is complex, my advice is to hire an interior designer like us, one who also has experience in architecture and construction.
From the dream to the finished room there is a lot of coordination. Structure, mechanical and electrical systems, kitchens, permits, contractors. Most of the hard questions are technical, and they appear when the drawings meet the building. A designer who has been through construction sees them early and solves them on paper, before they cost time on site.
That is how the idea the client approved becomes the room that gets built.
