Offices that give people more than a desk
The offices we have designed for large companies in Colombia gave people more than a desk. They found places to relax and to develop ideas, places for informal meetings and places to concentrate. Each kind of work got its own kind of space.
That variety is a new offer. People no longer have one spot where they work. They choose where to sit depending on what they have to do that hour.
When I plan an office I start from the day of the people who use it. Who needs silence, who needs to talk, where a quick conversation happens. The plan answers those questions before the furniture does.
